Building Collapse

Shane had a building renovation collapse claim denied.  The National insurer brought in a regional engineering firm to say the collapse was due to earth movement, which is considered an excluded cause of loss.  After contacting several attorneys and going nowhere, Shane was referred to our firm.  This is our specialty. We secured other engineers who showed the collapse was caused by hidden decay, a covered cause of loss.  The insurer dug in their heels but we did not abandon the client.  We filed suit in Federal Court with five depositions and finally got a settlement with the money the client wanted (now instead of looking for more money and waiting years due to Covid and delays in jury trials).

What the Client Has to Say:

Mr Kennedy and his staff were very professional and helpful in getting us the help we needed to fight the insurance company to get us whole again. Other attorneys told me I have no chance and I should take the loss when the foundation on a house I was renovating collapsed. As a developer you pay thousands of dollars a year to insure your company against these losses but when something happens insurance company leaves you high and dry. Bill was there from the very beginning and never stopped until the very end. He was very responsive and if it wasn’t for his persistence we probably wouldn’t have gotten the results we got. My Family and I Thank You Very Much.”
