Injuries like paralysis, loss of limbs and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are life-changing, for the victim and their family or caretakers, and those parties will need financial support for ongoing care and the inability to work. The expert personal injury attorneys at the Law Offices of William T. Kennedy will help recover financial losses sustained now and into the future.
Insurance companies will try to deny your claim!
Insurance companies will try to deny your claim, and even if you have an attorney, insurance adjusters or their legal counsel will work to settle quickly and minimize the company’s financial liability. They will want you to accept payment and stop all future claims. Because of this, claims are often settled for far less than what was incurred and deserved. This is why the very first call should be to an experienced trial attorney – an attorney or law firm who specializes in going to court in front of a judge or jury.
Injuries that you have suffered today may affect you for years to come. All too often, the Kennedy legal team has witnessed clients going through severe medical complications causally related to an accident, but don’t appear until well after the accident itself.
Do not fall prey to a huge company that sees you as a numbers game. Persist, and call the Law Offices of William T. Kennedy immediately. We have extensive knowledge and experience in the insurance industry because we defended insurance companies for decades. We know the inside workings of the system, we understand clearly how they operate, what tactics they’ll employ, and the lengths they’ll go to avoid a claim or limit their responsibility; none of which will be in your favor. That is why you need legal expertise on your side. Just like the thousands of clients we’ve represented with million-dollar verdicts, we will do everything in our power to ensure the most favorable outcome for you!
Car Accidents

Hands-free Driving Law Effective 2/23/20
Governor Charlie Baker’s Hands-free Driving Law went into effect on February 23, 2020. It’s been illegal to text and drive since 2010 but this newly established law addresses other driving distractions while a vehicle is in motion such as holding a phone at a traffic light, dialing a number, typing or receiving text messages and even eating or applying make-up while at a stop sign. A driver can use an electronic device while driving but only using hands-free technology. Punishments will be enforced with warnings through March 2020 and fines beginning April 1, 2020. Fines for junior drivers will be the stiffest. Bottom line, when operating a vehicle, a mobile phone/device must have bluetooth or other hands-free technology enabled. Period. Or you’ll be fined.
Distracted driving, such as driving or operating under the influence (DUI/OUI/DWI) of alcohol, marijuana or other opioids, leads to car accidents. Accidents are more apt to occur in high traffic areas like Boston, Quincy, Worcester, and even down through Plymouth and Cape Cod. Regardless of whether you are rear-ended in traffic or are involved in a head-on collision, if you have sustained injury in any car crash it can be life-altering.

Pedestrian / Bicycle / Motorcycle Accidents

Due to their unprotected environment and smaller profile compared to other motor vehicles, a biker is far more likely to suffer serious or devastating injury or accidental death when involved in any type of collision with a car or truck. With the exorbitant rise in distracted driving, collisions with motorcyclists and bicyclists in Boston and across Massachusetts has risen exponentially, resulting in a significant amount of fatalities each year. The City of Boston, under the guidance of Mayor Martin J. Walsh, has taken pedestrian and bicycling safety very seriously as indicated by instituting ‘Vison Zero’, a mission “to eliminate serious traffic crashes in the City by 2030. The Law Offices of William T. Kennedy supports this initiative and aims to keep the local communities as safe as possible. Workplace Injuries / Injured on the Job
Although regulations are in place to maintain a safe environment to protect workers from injury, accidents still happen. Workplace accidents, electrocution, slip-and-falls, or being crushed by equipment are just some of the common accidents that lead to severe personal injury and accidental death in the workplace. Nearly every employer in Massachusetts is required by state law to provide workers’ compensation insurance coverage for their employees. Fortunately, but unknown to many, even self-employed workers/owners, are eligible to purchase workers’ compensation insurance in the Commonwealth of Mass. This is a valuable and well-deserved benefit that not all states allow.
If you’ve been hurt at work and feel your injuries are caused by the negligence of your employer or circumstances on the premises, immediately contact us to speak with one of our experienced workplace injury attorneys. The workers’ comp system in Massachusetts is extremely lengthy and equally complex. Employers are not always educated in the intricacies and benefits of the workers’ compensation insurance program. Employers may try to prevent you from filing a claim because they think it will impact their future insurance premiums or costs.
Do not fall prey to the myths of workers comp. Workers’ Compensation is a right and there are benefits offered for a reason. You’re entitled to them. Like any insurance, a claim will likely be denied for many reasons that are not in your best interests or your fault. For example, if your application to collect compensation benefits is not exact, you will be denied. You may even be collecting workers’ comp and suddenly without explanation stop receive payment(s). It’s imperative to consult an attorney to discuss your individual situation. Free Consultations at Kennedy Law are offered for this very reason.
